Mansfield Town 1-1 AFC Wimbledon

AFC Wimbledon remained unbeaten on the road this season at Mansfield Town but the point came at a cost.

The Dons held the Stags to a 1-1 draw at Field Mill but lost Karleigh Osborne to injury in the first-half and Lyle Taylor to a red card in stoppage-time.

Neal Ardley changed things up and made six changes to the team that were knocked out of the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy.

One of player restored to line-up, Tom Elliott, wasted little time in making his mark as he latched onto a delicious pass from George Francomb and showed composure to beat Brian Jensen.

But the hosts were back on level terms in the 15th minute as Chris Clements made the most of a set-piece situation by bending a lovely free-kick round the Dons wall and past James Shea.

Osborne’s injury on the half-hour mark saw Will Nightingale enter the fray to play alongside Paul Robinson at the back.

Elliott ran the show for Wimbledon at the other end and was afforded a rest with 20 minutes ago, although his replacement, Taylor, didn’t finish the game as he saw red for a clash with Nicky Hunt.
