AFC Hayes continued their battle to beat the drop with a draw at Beaconsfield SYCOB on Saturday.
The Brook are fighting relegation at the bottom of the Southern League Division One Central and every point is vital at this stage of the season.
Paul Palmer’s side are seven points adrift of Leighton Town and the safety net with six games to go and 18 points left to play for this term.
They were unlucky not to take all three at the weekend after taking the lead through Eugene Asante’s headed second-half opener at Holloways Park.
Only a goal-line clearance from SYCOB’s Alex Murray moments later prevented the visitors from putting daylight between the two struggling teams.
Beaconsfield finished strongly and grabbed a share of the spoils nine minutes from time when Omari Patrick fired past Melvin Minter.
Next up for the Brook is a home clash with an Aylesbury side who were held to a 1-1 stalemate by bottom-of-the league North Greenford this weekend.
Hayes will hope to get points on the board quickly and their relegation dogfight could go right down to the wire in a real final-day six-pointer, with Leighton, on April 25.
Elsewhere in the division, rising Uxbridge star Mitchell Wiseman put in a fine performance as the Red Army played out an exciting 2-2 draw with leaders Kettering Town.
The young centre-half cancelled out Sandy Elliott’s quickfire opener for the Poppies before Matty Woods put the hosts in front and David Kolodynski levelled the scoreline.
Uxbridge keeper Rourke Pickford was called into late action and pulled off a stunning save to deny Kolodynski the winner for the table-toppers. The Reds play Marlow on Saturday.
Marlow go into that one having been sunk by Ismael Ehui’s double blast for Northwood at the weekend. The Woods take on Bedworth next.
In the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division, Danny Bennell, Ryan Egan and Harry Newman strikes saw Harefield United beat Leverstock Green 3-1.
Mikel Stareyshinski and a late Anthony Hickey penalty secured a 2-2 draw for Hillingdon Borough at home to Biggleswade.
