There will be plenty of local rivalry at stake when Hayes & Yeading United entertain Maidenhead United at Church Road on Boxing Day (26/12) in the Blue Square Conference South.

Both sides have struggled to find consistency over the past month but are still very much in the play-off picture as the second half of the season approaches.

Maidenhead are managed by former Yeading favourite and boss Johnson Hippolyte and a number of players have played for both clubs over the years.

Defeat at Chelmsford City on Saturday saw H&Y slip down to eighth place in the table and Garry Haylock's side have now taken only two points out of a possible 15 from their last five matches and dropped down from second spot.

Maidenhead moved back in to play-off positions with a 4-0 win over Bromley on Saturday, their first in six matches,  and they now sit in fifth spot.

Kick off is 3pm and a good festive crowd is antcipated at Church Road.

The sides will meet again in the reverse fixture at York Road on New Year's Day.
