Hayes and Yeading United moved back into the Blue Square Conference South play-off positions with a five goal thrashing of Basingstoke Town at Church Road on Saturday (7/3).

The 5-0 defeat of struggling Basingstoke saw United move above Maidenhead United and they now occupy fifth spot in the table.

Leading marksman Josh Scott started the goal rout on 21 minutes and a second came before the interval when 'Stoke defender Adam Aimable turned a Dale Binns cross into his own net.

Binns then blasted home goal number three on 65 minutes and Scott netted his 19th of the season as Hayes and Yeading completely controlled the match.

Substitute Staforde Palmer completed the scoring seven minutes from time as midfielder Toby Little returned to first team action for the last 20 minutes having been out injured since last November.
