PREMIER LEAGUE Harefield United 0 Hanwell Town 0

League leaders Harefield had to settle for a point from a tight clash with Hanwell Town.

Hares looked the more likely side to break the deadlock in the first half but Hanwell finished the stronger and could have taken all three points at the end.

Both defences played well, with Gary Williams, Luke Eldridge and Tom Kirk keeping the Hanwell forwards out and Jason Tucker, Anthony Rowlands and Chris Pape at the other end containing Hares Danny Buckle and Ben Cowen.

It was Buckle who had the best chances for the Hares in the first half with an early chance, but he could only scuff the shot.

On 30 minutes Buckle worked a good opening and it took a great save by Keiren Jimmy in the Hanwell goal to stop the Hares going ahead.

At the other end Charlie Miller was on form and he denied Blaise O'Brien, but the loose ball was snatched at and the ball bounced off the bar and over.

Cowen worked hard to create chances but they were few and far between for both sides, although Hares dominated the midfield battle through Warren Gladdy and Murray Williamson.

In the second half it was all change with Hanwell taking the game to the Hares and forcing them on the defensive for most of the game.

When the Hares did break out they looked dangerous down the wings with Craig Totton and Adam Willis causing Hanwell a number of problems.

Again a chance by Buckle had Jimmy pulling off a good save to deny him

But it was Hanwell who were creating the best chances with Lee Clarke-playing well, but woeful finishing and good defending denied them the three points.

Joe Kelly was brought on for the injured Cowen but could not open up the Hanwell defence.

The final act was a great run down the left by Totton who let fly from 35 yards only to see the ball hit the bar and go for a goal-kick.

Overall this was a good point for both sides and with other results going Harefield's way they are now six points clear at the top. Harefield: Miller, Williams, Totton, Eldridge, Haynes, Williamson, Buckle, Willis, Cowen, Kirk, Gladdy Subs: Brown, Lloyd, Kelly.
