Fulham will reportedly make a move again for Newcastle United striker Dwight Gayle in the January transfer window.
The Whites were believed to have submitted a £15m offer for the ex-Crystal Palace man last week, just before the deadline.
Fulham managed to add attack-minded players Aboubakar Kamara, Sheyi Ojo and Rui Fonte last month, but Gayle would have been a 20-goal a season forward to put the icing on the cake.
Slavisa Jokanovic's side have scored just four goals in their opening five Championship matches.
Gayle was a force to be reckoned with last season with 23 goals to help the Magpies back into the Premier League.
But he hasn't scored in three games so far and may find himself down the pecking order following the arrival of Spanish forward Joselu.
Fulham are back in action this Saturday at home to table-topping Cardiff City.
