Hayes and Yeading United and Uxbridge both moved into the first round of the FA Trophy with fine home wins on Saturday.
Uxbridge shocked Blue Square Conference South side Dorchester Town with a 2-1 victory at Honeycroft while striker Kieran Knight hit all four goals as Hayes & Yeading swept past Chelmsford City 4-1 at Church Road in the third qualifying round.
Knight was the hero for H&Y as his four well taken goals sent Blue Square Conference South rivals and leaders Chelmsford out of the competition.
After putting United ahead in the 12th minute Knight then struck three more second half goals to sink Chelmsford, who replied with a Dave Rainsford penalty four minutes from time.
The only disappointment for United was that midfielder Toby Little limped off in the closing stages with a knee injury having only just returned to action after a lengthy lay-off.
Jamie Mudge converted an early penalty to put Dorchester ahead in the clash with Uxbridge but the Reds stormed back in the first half with terrific strikes from Mark Nicholls and Kevin Warner to claim a 2-1 victory over their higher league opponents.
