Nico Yennaris loved the 'tremendous' atmosphere during Brentford's 1-0 win over QPR and believes the win is right up there with the best moments in his career so far.

The full back produced a dominant display to blunt Rangers' array of attacking talent, including the returning Charlie Austin.

And, thanks to Marco Djuricin firing home from Alan Judge's cross early in the second half, Brentford were able to walk away with the win and the bragging rights over their rivals.

He said: “It'll be up there. It's always nice to win a local derby. The atmosphere throughout the game was tremendous.”

Yennaris is starting to show fans the player he can be with his performances and is loving the confidence Lee Carsley and Paul Williams have placed in him.

He added: “I need to stay consistent with my performances. It's only going to get better for me. We need to keep winning and keep clean sheets. It's only going to get better.

“I've always believed in myself. When given that game time you have the extra confidence as the manager has faith in you.

“Getting regular game time has been a big thing for me. Hopefully I can push on now and get better.”
