Neal Ardley reckons AFC Wimbledon will look back on today’s result at Cheltenham Town as a ‘good point’ on the road.

The Dons grabbed a share of the spoils as Adam Barrett cancelled out Matt Taylor’s early opener for the home side.

Taylor had broken the deadlock inside the opening 10 minutes but Wimbledon didn’t crumble and fought their way back into the match.

They might even have had all three points had Bayo Akinfenwa have manage to find the net with a handful of second-half chances.

However, boss Ardley was satisfied with the final outcome after the early scare from the Robins in Gloucestershire.

He said: ““It is a good point, it was a resilient point. We didn't want to be sloppy at the back. Everyone should be pleased with how we have played.

“We were disappointed that we didn't win the game. They edged the first half and they caused us one or two problems and we didn't solve them.

"At half-time we told the side how they needed to solve the problems and they did.

“The second half they didn't have any clear-cut chances or many attempts on goal and we carried a good threat.”

Wimbledon now turn their attentions to a midweek trip to Milton Keynes for a JPT tie.
