Brentford have invested in their Jersey Road training ground and their belief is it will have an impact on what the players do on the pitch.

The club's Osterley base is where the real work gets done during the week and, as anyone would know, the quality of their office can have influence the job they do.

And work on the pitches has already taken place and should be all ready for when the players return at the end of the month.

Chief executive Mark Devlin said: “We've done quite a bit to liven up the communal areas so the dining areas where the players congregate.

“We upgraded the changing areas there last season. There's not a lot of work to do in that area.

“We've worked to put the Brentford mark on the training ground so it's Brentford's training ground rather than a building that happens to house training facilities.

“It'll feel a real training hub for the club where the first team and the B team can be proud of it. We don't own the site so we're limited in what we can do.

“We're able to lift the place up and make it inspirational. It's the players' place of work and where they go four, five, six days a week.

General view of Brentford's Griffin Park as crowds gather for their match against rivals Queens Park Rangers.

“The stadium is obviously the pinnacle of the week. The training ground has to be right and inspirational to the level we can do given the confines of the site.

“The pitches over there are already quite green. They were prepared with one eye on when the team return.

“They return well in advance of the season starting. That had to be done ahead of process. The grass is already coming through well over there.”
