AFC Wimbledon defender Darius Charles knows he and his team-mate are in for a rocky ride at relegation-threatened Port Vale on Saturday.

The West Midlands outfit have up to two games in hand on teams around them and will be looking to get nothing but a win against the Dons.

However, Neal Ardley's men go into the clash in confidence, having beaten play-off hopefuls Rochdale on Tuesday evening.

"We know what to expect on Saturday. It will be tough," Charles told Get West London.

"At this time of the season when teams are scrapping to get promotion or stay in the league, they're the toughest teams to play.

"So it will be a really, really hard game at Port Vale and we'll have to make sure we go there strong defensively, make sure we move the ball well.

"Hopefully, off the back of our intensity and work, we can go up there and get a result."
