Jamie Mackie thinks Queens Park Rangers aren't far off from getting that first Championship away win of the season.

Ian Hollway's side travel to Derby County tonight in what will be another tough ask against a side looking to be in around the play-off places once again.

Rangers were narrowly beaten at home by Aston Villa on Saturday, while they were thrashed 4-0 by Nottingham Forest the last time they were on the road.

And Mackie says no one in QPR's squad is down about their recent defeats and are confident of turning things around.

"We lost at home (against Aston Villa), so we need to try and get something away from home," he said.

"It has to turn at some point, it's just a few tweaks knowing that we can't quite setup the same way at home, with the nature of the pitch being a big factor.

"Other teams aren't used to that, but away from home it's just a few small tweaks. We got beaten by four goals away last time out and the lads held their hands up and knew it wasn't good enough.

"But the rest of the away games, we have been in all of them and never really been beaten badly. We have had some good draws.

"We just need to change a couple of things and I think we'll get some results.

"I think this squad is doing great where it is and we have a real, inner belief that we can do well this season."
