Lyle Taylor's solo effort was described as “breathtaking” by manager Neal Ardley after AFC Wimbledon came away from league leaders Northampton with a point.
The draw made in 10 League Two games unbeaten on the road for the Dons after Taylor's strike on the hour cancelled out John-Joe O'Toole's opener at Sixfields.
Chris Wilder's table topping Cobblers are the league's form side after a 10 game winning sequence which was brought to an end at Hartlepool on Saturday.
“Lyle Taylor's goal was breathtaking” Ardley told Dons Player. “We had that good spell when Robbo hit the post and the keeper made that save.”
“If we could have scored again at that point we would have had something to hang onto, but unfortunately that spell came and went.”
“We really had a go at the best team in the league. It's only a point, but there's a lot of team who have come here and got nothing.”
