Mark Warburton wants to ditch Brentford's underdogs tag and has warned their Championship rivals they are not there just to make up the numbers.

The Bees gave a good account of themselves before going down to league leaders Norwich City on Tuesday night as their four-game unbeaten run came to an end.

However, the west Londoners are still 10th in the table after an impressive start to the season following promotion from League One.

"I don't want us regarded as little old Brentford - we're way better than that," said boss Warburton.

"We were the underdogs against Norwich. All the pre-match talk was that they could go top of the league. I didn't hear anyone say that we could have gone second.

"I don't want us to be the small guest at the party. There's quality players in that dressing room and the club's moving in the right direction."
