Mark Warburton believes Brentford produced some of their best football of the season after edging a five-goal thriller with Brighton.

Moses Odubajo and Andre Gray had put the Bees in the driving seat before Gordon Greer pulled one back before the break.

Jonathan Douglas restored Brentford's two-goal cushion early in the second half, only for Danny Holla's screamer to ensure a nervy finish.

However, the hosts held on for an impressive 3-2 victory to climb into the play-off places.

“From 15 minutes through to 40 minutes, that was as good as we’ve been this season," said boss Warburton afterwards.

“We could have been two down after 10 minutes, we could have been four up after 40. It was that type of game.

“An open game is great for the neutral but we didn’t want to get drawn into a see-saw, too stretched game.

“At the end, it was tighter than I wanted it to be but what a fantastic performance from the players.”
