Mark Warburton has emerged as the bookmaker's new favourite to become the next Brentford boss.

The Bees sporting director has played a key role since his appointment in 2011, initially arriving at Griffin Park as a coach alongside Nicky Forster following Andy Scott's sacking and helping to steer the club to safety.

Warburton took up his current post that summer after a restructuring of the club, overseeing a transformation of the first team and academy.

He was linked with a similar role at Premier League outfit West Bromwich Albion last year, but committed his future to Brentford instead.

The NextGen Series founder has jumped to the front of the queue for the manager's job, according to Sky Bet, who have the former Watford coach at 1/2 to become Rosler's successor.

Former England U21 boss Stuart Pearce and Neil Warnock (both 8/1) and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink (12/1) are outsiders.
