Brentford boss Mark Warburton has revealed he used negative comments about his team to inspire them to this afternoon's victory at Leyton Orient.

Following the home defeat to another promotion rivals in the shape of Wolves three weeks ago, there were a few comments on supporters' websites about the same old Brentford blowing it on the big occasion.

Warburton was also narked by comments made by Sky Sports analysts before the game that the Bees would be happy with a point at the Matchroom Stadium.

He said: “I hope we have blown any thoughts of Brentford blowing it on the big occasion out of the water now. We do that with the players – print off any negative comments we see about it being the same old Brentford and post them around the dressing room.

“One of the Sky guys also gave my team talk for me when he said we would be happy to take a point from the game.

“The players knew what was at stake. You can tell them as many times you want that it's only three points, but they're not stupid – they know what's at stake.

“I was delighted with the way the boys reacted to it. The young lads were immense and the older heads put in some outstanding performances. We have learnt from last year's disappointment.”
