Mark Warburton is hoping striker Chris Long will be fit for Brentford's play-off semi final first leg against Middlesbrough.

The Everton loanee has not been in action since the 4-1 win over Fulham on Good Friday with an illness then suffered a gashed leg while playing for the Toffees development side.

The Bees have continued to extend the loan in the hope that Long will be fit to compete in the play-offs and Warburton will continue to assess the striker.

He said: “Hopefully (he will be fit). He is back in training. Hopefully he'll be fit but we won't know for a couple of days yet.”

Richard Lee, who spent the last few weeks of the season on loan at Fulham is back with the club and is available.

Strikers Will Grigg and Nick Proschwitz who have been on loan at MK Dons and Coventry respectively are unavailable for the contest.
