Alex Pritchard missed Brentford's 1-0 defeat at Sheffield Wednesday with a dead calf.

The Tottenham loanee scored in the 1-1 draw at Derby but was forced off late on after taking a kick in the calf.

Although he is likely to face Bolton on Saturday, Tuesday's meeting at Hillsborough came too soon for Pritchard.

Warburton said: "He got a dead calf from a kick at Derby. It was nothing more than a couple of days but ruled him out.

"With the games coming so thick and fast, we've got to look after every player. Alex has big games coming up and we have to look after him so tonight came a little bit too soon.

"There's many niggly injuries in football and they take 24-72 hours to calm down. This game came a day too early for Alex. Whether it's a permanent player we'll always do best for their health and welfare."
