Levi King reckons fans will soon see a very different Hanworth Villa side which will start to climb the Combined Counties Premier.

The Villains have struggled under new boss Gary Jenkins and are in the unfamiliar position of bottom of the table following Saturday's 2-0 home defeat to Frimley Green, having only won once all season.

The have been more used to fighting it out at the other end of the table since being promoted five years ago, and striker King is in no mood for a relegation battle.

He said: “The last thing we want is a relegation struggle, but I think the club are worried about it, and the chairman is looking to bring some of the old faces back in over the next few weeks.

“We had the same squad together for four years, and on Saturday there was not one. We've had 14 players leave and only a few left from last season, but hopefully we'll get three or four back and will be all right.

“Some of them – like Ricky Farnden, Shaun Preddie, Lee Morley, Anthony Oaks and Andrew Juett – have moved up a league, and you can't blame them as they're getting paid and we have no budget."

Here and there: Shaun Preddie has left Hanworth Villa but is still playing for their Sunday side

In the same division, Bedfont Sports , who survived their own battle with relegation last season, are having a much better season this time around, but went down 2-0 at leaders Cove on Saturday.

In Division One, CB Hounslow United lost 4-2 at Sheerwater, while two Jacob Lambe strikes in the last 10 minutes saw Bedfont & Feltham edge past Sandhurst Town 4-3, with Kumanie Scarlett and new loan signing from Hendon, Max McCann, also on the scoresheet.

Both CB and Bedfont were also in cup action on Tuesday night, with Luke Craig's late winner seeing Bedfont through 1-0 in the Middlesex Premier Cup at Rayners Lane, but CB bowing out of the Middlesex Charity Cup 1-0 to Staines Lammas.

Meanwhile, he might have left their Saturday side, but Shaun Preddie was on target for Hanworth Villa Sunday in their 5-1 hammering of Richmond & Twickenham in the Chiswick & District League, along with Joel Binalli (2), Luke Gilbert and Marcus Correia. while Bedfont & Feltham Sunday beat AFC Isleworth 5-1.

Man of the match Greg Paczkowski bagged a brace, while Lee Blythe and Henry Knock also netted, as AFC Feltham Sunday won 4-1 at Langdon Park in the West Middlesex League, but the reserves lost 4-0 to a very good Spelthorne Sports Sunday side.
