Brentford moved to within two within two points of the play-off places with an impressive win over Reading on Saturday.

First-half goals from Jota and Alex Pritchard put the Bees in control, but Simon Cox gave the visitors hope.

However, Jonathan Douglas headed home late on to seal a 3-1 victory for Mark Warburton's men.

The Brentford boss heaped praise on midfield general Douglas following his third goal of the campaign.

He said: "Dougie came back in the summer looking lean and hungry and he’s been outstanding. It’s a testament to the hard work he’s put in.

"His experience defensively is much needed. He marshalls the troops and the younger players learn a lot from him."
