Brentford lost ground on their promotion rivals after they were held to a goalless draw at Carlisle on Saturday.

The Bees, who were looking to bounce back following defeat to Wolves the previous week, were frustrated by the Cumbrians and made to settle for a point.

The draw meant Mark Warburton's men now trail second-placed Leyton Orient by three points, although Brentford have two games in hand.

Boss Warburton challenged his players to take their game to the next level in a bid to realise their dream of automatic promotion.

He said: "I think teams are going to look at Brentford now and play two banks of four and ask us to come and break them down. We’ve got to be aware of that.

“We’ve got to go to the next level and be more clinical in the final third.”
