Bayo Akinfenwa bagged his third goal in two games to earn AFC Wimbledon victory against Morecambe on Saturday.

The Dons striker powered home Alan Bennett's cross just before the hour mark to seal a second successive win at Kingsmeadow.

Boss Neal Ardley heaped praise on the former Northampton and Gillingham frontman for proving his doubters wrong.

He said: “A lot of people told me that Akinfenwa can't play twice in a week.

“They said he won't last the season. But I haven't got a bad word to say about the guy. He's unplayable – there's no way around him, you want to go one-on-one with him and he's unplayable.”
