Fulham’s faint play-off hopes suffered another blow after they were held to a frustrating draw against Birmingham.

Hugo Rodallega gave the Cottagers an early lead after Lasse Vigen Christensen played him through after just five minutes.

However, the Blues hit back and David Cotterill's free-kick found the top corner to leave the Whites 15 points off sixth-place Watford.

"The play-offs are an awful long way away and every time we drop points it gets that little bit further," manager Kit Symons said. "We will aim to finish as high as we can and do as well as we can.”

His words were echoed by goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli but the young stopper was grateful not to be in a relegation scrap.

He said: “It’s going to be difficult to make the play-offs now. If you look at where we were when Kit took over, we’ve done a tremendous job to get out of that because at one point we were bottom of the table.”
