AFC Wimbledon reached their highest ever Football League points total following a goalless draw with Oxford United.

A point against the U's takes the Dons to 55 points, surpassing their previous best haul of 54, but the match was overshadowed by a shocking injury to Deji Oshilaja.

The on-loan Cardiff City defender went up for an aerial challenge and landed heavily on his head and neck before being stretchered off two minutes into the second period.

Dons boss Neal Ardley said: “The top 12 and 60 points is our aim.

“Last season we got to 56 before we'd had the points deduction. Everyone says Terry Brown got to 54 points but we got to 56 last season and had it taken away from us.

“As far as I'm concerned 56 is my best score and I'm now trying to get to 60 and finish in the top 12 places.”

Meanwhile, Wimbledon are hopeful Oshilaja's neck injury isn't as bad as first feared.
