Felix Magath says new signing Matt Smith will add another dimension to Fulham's frontline.

The Cottagers captured the target man on transfer deadline day from Leeds United in a move that sees him rekindle his partnership with Ross McCormack.

And boss Magath believes Smith will provide an aerial threat to Fulham's attack and is set to start against Reading tomorrow.

He said: "I was searching for a tall player with a very good header because we are a team with not so much height.

"Matt Smith is a very strong guy and is good in the air, which is what we've missed. It was a problem in the games at the start of the season.

"We haven't had the option to play high balls. We have another option now to push pressure on opponents."
