David Button's errors cost Brentford dear against Cardiff as the Bluebirds claimed a 2-1 victory .

The Bees stopper collided with Harlee Dean for Federico Macheda to cancel out Andre Gray's goal before Button was caught in no-mans land and allowed Alex Revell to lob him to give Cardiff the lead and the points.

Kadeem Harris was sent off for a foul on Alan Judge before Macheda walked for a second bookable offence.

But there was still drama as Kenwyne Jones appeared to handle James Tarkowski's goal bound shot in the dying seconds.

Manager Mark Warburton said: “It was a good 1-0 at half-time. We made a mistake, simple as that, for the equaliser. We needed two or three minutes to get over that. Indecision cost us the second goal and then it was the Alamo.

The real disappointment was lacking the quality in the final 10 minutes. We were content to throw the ball into a crowded box when we've got technically gifted players who are better than that.”
