Henrique Hilario is expected to take up a coaching role at Chelsea after announcing his retirement.
The former Blues backup goalkeeper was third-choice at Stamford Bridge last season behind Petr Cech and Mark Schwarzer.
Chelsea decided against extending Hilario’s playing contract into a ninth year and instead opted to make Schwarzer their number-three stopper for the forthcoming campaign.
Lampard signed for New York, later joining Premier League rivals Manchester City on a loan deal, while Cole has moved to Italian giants Roma.
Hilario though looks set to return to the Bridge after posting a message on his Instagram account, describing an offer made to him by the Blues to pass on his experience.
Christophe Lollichon is Chelsea’s current goalkeeping coach, having joined from Rennes in 2007, and is trusted by boss Jose Mourinho.
It is likely that Hilario’s role will be limited to working with the club’s youngsters at Cobham, leaving Lollichon to take care of Cech and Courtois as they battle for the gloves.
