QPR’s first friendly in Germany has been postponed after just 13 minutes due to adverse weather conditions.

The fixture against German second-tier side Union Berlin was cancelled after extremely heavy rain caused the referee to suspend play until the weather calmed down.

After a lengthy delay, the referee took the decision to postpone the game for good, with the rain continuing to tumble in a relentless fashion, ensuring that the chances of the match restarting were next-to none.

The game looked like it could have been a tricky affair, with Alex Smithies being forced into three early stops as Berlin camped themselves in the Hoops’ half.

Further updates on whether the fixture will be rescheduled is expected in due course, with tomorrow’s fixture against Lokomotiv Leipzig still very much scheduled to take place.
