Alex Smithies

Maybe could have done more to push Kreilach's first effort wide of the post, rather than straight back to him for the goal. Handling good from crosses apart from that. 6

James Perch

Two vital defensive headers in the opening 90 seconds to keep Berlin at bay and also a good outlet for Rangers going forward. 6.5

Nedum Onuoha

Battled well with former Rangers striker Polter and generally coped with balls into the box comfortably, but was out jumped for the goal which is disappointing. Couldn't react to the rebound either. 5.5

Joel Lynch

Looked solid at the heart of the R's defence and comfortable on the ball when it was played out. 6

Jake Bidwell

Caught out of position a couple of times down the left, especially early on. Did make a couple of crunching tackles, though. 6

Jamie Mackie

Had endured a quiet start to the game, before winning the Hoops a corner and almost setting up Smith for the equaliser on the half hour mark. Typical workmanlike self in creating the chances. 6.5

Ariel Borysiuk

Got stuck in in the middle of the park and produced one important block. Is something of a terrier in the middle of the park, sometimes a bit rash with his tackles though. One fierce drive stung the hands of Busk late on. 7

Josh Scowen

Put his body on the line well prior to the goal and was neat on the ball in the middle. Produced a couple of nice balls forward and one of the R's better performers. 7

Yeni Ngbakoto

Nice break and cutback set Washington up early on but the number nine couldn't find the back of the net. Set-pieces weren't great though and trying a corner along the floor when the centre-backs are up wasn't too clever. 6

Conor Washington

Almost opened the scoring with a powerful drive, only for Busk to beat it away. Was quiet apart from that, although did get involved in some of the R's breaks. 6

Matt Smith

Limited chances upfront and his two headers saw him stretch and fail to find the target. Hold up play good, too, and will be hoping for better service after the break. 6.5
