Tottenham play Chelsea in the London derby on Sunday, with both teams keen for points.

Spurs are fifth, 10 points and 10 places better off than the Premier League champions, who are seeking just a second away win of the season.

Here are five talking points ahead of the game between the London rivals.

JETLAG

Mauricio Pochettino called the schedule which sees Tottenham play Chelsea at midday on Sunday a "joke" due to his side's 2,500-mile journey back from Azerbaijan on Thursday night.

Chelsea's return from Israel was only marginally shorter, but the Blues had an extra 48 hours to prepare, as they played on Tuesday.

Jose Mourinho may have some sympathy for Pochettino, having often called for the Premier League fixtures to be more accommodating to those in European action. But Mourinho will take any help he can get in a bid for a much-needed victory.

AWAY-DAY BLUES

Chelsea's defeat of Maccabi Tel Aviv earned consecutive wins for just the second time this season and first in two months.

Whether the resurgence is real will be tested at White Hart Lane, a venue Blues supporters have called 'Three Point Lane'.

That moniker is misleading as Chelsea, who have one away win in six attempts in the Premier League this season, have one win and four defeats in the last 10 games at Spurs' home.

KANE CAPITULATION

The most recent meeting between the sides was the Capital One Cup final, which Chelsea won to take revenge for a 5-3 loss at Spurs on New Year's Day.

Tottenham's Christian Eriksen, Nabil Bentaleb and Harry Kane look dejected after Chelsea's first goal

That Harry Kane-inspired victory exposed the failings which have become so familiar to Chelsea followers this season as Tottenham's pace tore through the visitors.

Strangely, John Terry's likely absence with an ankle problem could aid the Blues as Kurt Zouma and Gary Cahill are better suited to combating fast attackers.

WILL DIEGO DELIVER?

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Kane in recent days. Whether it is mischief-making or not remains to be seen - they have also been linked with Jamie Vardy, which, despite his recent goalscoring run, seems odd, although stranger things have happened - in no small part due to the form of Diego Costa.

Chelsea's Diego Costa shoots at goal and is deflected off Tottenham's Kyle Walker for an own goal and their second

Costa, if selected, will have to show his qualities as a footballer, rather than his perhaps greater ability as an arch-antagonist if Chelsea are to prevail.

MOURINHO THROUGH THE WORST?

Chelsea's wins this season have been against limited opponents, with the exception of Arsenal, who so often wilt against their rivals, and West Brom. Maccabi Tel Aviv (twice), Norwich, Dynamo Kiev, Aston Villa and Walsall are the other sides beaten by the Blues.

Chelsea will have to play better than they have all season to win at Spurs and Mourinho can only hope that he and Chelsea are through the worst of it.
