London Tigers 2-3 Tring Athletic

Three goals in the last 10 minutes made for a thrilling finish last night - but it did little for Tigers’ spirit.

They were the ones who suffered on a sapping glue pot of a pitch and it showed, when 2-1 on 82 minutes became 2-3 by the final whistle.

The Perivale based side have only played four times in the last five weeks, but shook of match rust when Hesham Benmansour set up Jabir Laraba to fire into the far corner.

A litany of chances for both sides then went begging all the way to the 58th minute until Chris Vardy for the visitors, pounced at the far post.

Even then, a brilliant save from Tigers keeper Aris Pampolim kept it 1-1.

But it looked as though a welcome three points for a struggling side, fourth bottom in the division, was on the cards when Benmansour broke through the Tring defence and fired past the keeper.

It all came apart two minutes later when Luke Dunston arrived from the left to latch onto a through ball and leave Pampolim no chance.

At that stage, both sides would have settled for a point, but with Tiger energy reserves on zero, Tring sub Kieron Turner struck two minutes from time to leave Tigers with no winning tale to tell.
