Chelsea’ thrilling 6-3 victory at Everton was the joint seventh highest scoring game in Premier League history but Jose Mourinho says the game was no fun for him as a viewer.

Defensive errors spoiled a hard-won three points at Goodison Park for the Blues boss and he says he wants his team to do better from set pieces.

“It was wonderful for everyone watching - but not for me," said Mourinho.

"We cannot make so many defensive mistakes. Today we showed we are improving in other areas but not keeping the balance in defence.

"Wednesday afternoon we spent 90 minutes defending corners and free-kicks.

"But today we conceded from a free-kick so I cannot be happy with the ridiculous goal we conceded."

The Premier League’s record high-scoring game was Portsmouth’s 7-4 win over Reading in 2007.
