With the squad back in pre-season training, Ollie will be faced with the stark reality of what he faces in the current QPR squad; a team lacking in strength in depth.

The Hoops have a team of players who can all perform on their day, but if last year has taught us anything, it's that "their day" didn't come round as often as it should.

What Ian Holloway has is a squad who are more than capable of playing at Championship level, but missing four or five key experienced heads to guide the team forward.

We take a look at three key areas which the club need to prioritise during the summer's transfer window.

Full back

Both left and right back positions are lacking in experience.

On the left side, Jake Bidwell had an average campaign last season, but in my opinion has the capability to kick on this term.

On the right side Darnell Furlong has all of the makings of an effective option, but i feel it'd be foolish to heap the pressure of a Championship campaign on his young shoulders at this stage.

Both sides of the defence could use extra cover, and it could be useful to have this in the shape of a defender who is comfortable in a number of positions. Another experienced option at the back could be a huge boost.

Central midfield

The current QPR midfield is distinctly lacking in bite.

Last season the club needed a midfield who would take the game by the scruff of the neck, and make things difficult for the opposition, something which didn't happen nearly enough.

The potential arrival of Josh Scowen would be a huge boost to the QPR midfield who are in need of an aggressive personality, but may well seek another experienced head to be a real leader in the heart of the Hoops midfield.

Attacking midfield

An area where the club need to bring in two quality additions.

Depending on what system Ollie will be looking to play next season, the addition of a creative outlet is an absolute must.

The club currently hold numerous players who are hard workers and have the ability to do something special on their day, but if the club are to kick on you need a consistent performer who will take it upon themselves to create something out of nothing.

The addition of a speedy winger and a creative number ten would be at the top of my shopping list this summer.
