Harry Redknapp will hand 19-year-old defender Coll Donaldson his debut at Barnsley tomorrow.

The Scottish defender, signed from Livingston in the January, has impressed in training and gets his chance in a game that will have no bearing on Rangers' final position – their play-off berth already booked.

Canadian winger Michael Petrasso, 18, will also be given a place on the bench at Oakwell as the QPR boss looks to shuffle his pack ahead of Friday's semi-final first leg against either Wigan or Reading.

“The young boy Coll Donaldson's going to make his debut tomorrow,” Redknapp said.

“He's a young lad we signed from Livingston and it's an opportunity to play him at centre half.

“Petrasso will start on the bench but there's every chance he'll come on and play. He's an exciting little player so it's a chance for him as well.”

Rangers will be without Jermaine Jenas for the play-offs as he begins his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury but Redknapp says he will still have a fairly experienced team in action at Barnsley.

“Jermaine's picked up a bad injury and it's going to be a long job for him. We're talking maybe six months.

“I'm going to juggle a few tomorrow. Clint Hill is not well. He has a bit of a virus and is not available and Danny Simpson's carrying a little knock.

"Benoit [Assou-Ekotto] had a scan on a swollen knee and he's also not available, but he should be OK for the play-offs.

“We've still got a good side and it's a very experienced team. Charlie Austin will play because he needs another game. Armand Traore needs a game too, so it will be a strong team.”

Redknapp added: "One or two will play tomorrow who've got a chance of getting back in the side for next week. We're still looking at everybody to see who looks sharp and ready to play.

"Barnsley have been relegated unfortunately, but they'll probably be relaxed and play better tomorrow – that often happens."
