IT HAS come down to two-horse race between Sven-Goran Eriksson and Mark Hughes to become the next Fulham manager.

Both were on the reject pile eight days ago, but that was before the Whites got blown out by Ajax in their quest to install Martin Jol at Craven Cottage .

But when the Dutch refused to release the former Tottenham boss, Fulham’s board quickly sifted through their slim options to return to the men who ironically followed each other to the main job at Manchester City.

Chronicle sport understands chairman Mohamed Al Fayed is playing a major role in the appointment, and reckons there is little to choose between the Swede and the former Wales supremo.
