Nathan Elder gave Brentford their first pre-season friendly win with a late winner at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday.

Sub Elder headed home Glenn Poole's cross just a few minutes after coming on to land the Supporters' Direct Trophy for his side.

The Bees had fallen behind early on after a quick free-kick routine caught them napping and Jon Main took full advantage.

But Alan Connell equalised before half-time with his second goal in two pre-season games, before Elder sealed victory.

There was another start for Brett Johnson at centre-back, enhancing his prospect of earning a contract with the Bees, while fellow-trialist Justin Able got a second substitute appearance.
