There is no storm cloud of negativity hanging over Brentford, boss Andy Scott insists.

Scott gave an interview after last week's 3-0 drubbing at Chester City blasting negative forces at work in the club.

His words were picked up on and speculated on by supporters in the run up to and aftermath of Saturday's defeat to Rochdale.

But Scott has now played down the issue.

He said: "The point I was trying to make was, yes we played poorly at Chester, and I admit that, but it was only one defeat.

"It doesn't mean we've suddenly gone back to how it was last season, or two years ago.

"We have a lot of good young players at the club, and their form will fluctuate.

"But we have a lot of positive things happening here, and we need everybody onside."
