Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam has named QPR boss Ian Holloway as the best manager he's played under during his career.

The question was put to the former Rangers and Liverpool man on Monday night's episode of The Debate on Sky Sports, where he praised Ollie for the impact he had on him while working together at Blackpool.

Responding to the question 'Who was the best manager you played under?', Adam said: "I'd probably say Ian Holloway.

"He gave me the freedom to play and made me the player I was. He's an inspiration, a great character, a great manager and he propelled my career. I had a chat with him before I got to Blackpool and he said 'I'll get you to the Premier League'. I never believed him but he got me there and I owe a lot to him."
