Bedfont Sports have signed four new players ahead of the start of their Middlesex County League Premier season on Saturday.

Keeper Gary Phillips and midfielder/striker Kennrick Harriot have both joined from assistant boss Steve Matthews' former club Englefield Green Rovers.

Both are well known to the area, with Phillips having played in goal for Bedfont Green and Harriot having done service with Bedfont in recent years.

Former Chertsey and Kingsmeadow midfielder Brenton Amadee has also pitched up, along with ex-Guildford and Godalming winger Darren Crow. Sports, who begin the new campaign at Bethnal Green, went down 2-1 to Virginia Water in their final friendly on Saturday.

However, their Sunday Thirds thrashed Feltham Reunited 7-4, while the Seconds beat Jockey Reigners 3-2, thanks to goals from Jason Kettles, Scott Sheridan and Ricky Bates.

Hanworth City were spot on on Sunday, with penalties earning their A team a win and their B team a draw.

Paul Slegg's spot kick, plus an earlier strike from Ben Hogan, gave the As a 2-1 win over Beesotted. And a last-minute penalty saw City's reserves rescued a 3-3 draw with Beesotted B.

A freak goal and a hotly-disputed penalty saw Beesotted crash to their first defeat of pre-season against Hanworth City on Sunday.

Trialist Matt Hills smashed the Brentford supporters' side ahead on the stroke of half time, but Hanworth levelled after the break when a cross caught in the wind and looped over Jamie Harris. And things got worse for the Bees when Robert Balson was adjudged to have handled in the box, and the spot kick was fired home to give Hanworth a 2-1 win.

Elsewhere, Beesotted's second string were denied victory by a last-gasp penalty against Hanworth's reserves.

Two goals from Michael Blake and a David Knowles effort put Richard Smith's men 3-2 ahead, but a stoppage-time spot kick saw honours end even.

Newly formed Ashford Youth are looking for players in all positions for their new U11 to U15 teams.
