Sunday night saw the broadcast of Alan Shearer's thought-provoking BBC documentary, 'Dementia, Football and Me'.

The purpose is to raise awareness and to encourage research looking to see if footballers are more likely to develop a condition like dementia, and to assess whether more should be done to protect football players of all ages to prevent the risk.

In a special episode of Spirit of '67, Head of Sport Lee Wilmot is joined by QPR reporter, Phil Spencer, and Former football player and Charlton Athletic reporter Clive Youlton to discuss the topic in depth, and whether the risk posed to players of the game could have had an effect on Hoops legend Stan Bowles, who is suffering with Alzheimer's disease.
