Slavisa Jokanovic has insisted that he has no plans to leave Fulham, despite the ongoing public row over transfers.

The Serbian looked to sign Ben Marshall, Omar Mascarell and Andreas Pereira of Manchester United but they did not meet the requirements head of statistical recruitment Craig Kline wanted, the latter reportedly because he hadn't played enough minutes to analyse.

Jokanovic went public with his frustrations after the Whites 2-2 draw with Cardiff on Saturday and reports had suggested that he was set to quit Craven Cottage over the issue.

But the head coach has poured cold water on those suggestions, but believes Fulham need more bodies in order to build on their strong start in the Championship.

Jokanovic said: “I never have had any plans to leave Fulham. If I complain about something it's because I want the best for my team, for my team-mates, for the supporters as well.

Not enough data: Andreas Pereira

“I was very clear and I explained it on Saturday what my opinion was on this situation. I'm still in the same position.

“I believe we need more players to be stronger in the future. It depends on what our target is in the future.

“Manchester United and Manchester City buy new players. If I arrive with less ambition, I want to be successful and if I am it's good for the club and the supporters.”

It has also been suggested a deal for Asamoah Gyan has fallen through but Jokanovic refused to confirm as much.

He added: “It is not in my hands. He's an interesting player of good quality. He can be important for us.”

Jokanovic had reason to smile as a young Fulham side came from a goal down to beat Middlesbrough by two goals to one to reach the third round of the EFL Cup.

He explained: “I am proud. We showed the quality, the right spirit, the character. I am proud of what they are doing during the game and their fighting spirit.

“We showed we're a strong group in this moment, which is the best news for us.”
