Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic is remaining stubborn despite his side's latest defensive error against Aston Villa costing them a point.

The Whites were downed 1-0 at Villa Park after goalkeeper David Button lost the ball having travelled 30 yards out of his area.

Jonathan Kodjia volleyed home smartly from the resulting Villa attack to leave Fulham pointless from the match, and end their unbeaten streak.

But Jokanovic , who was promoted with Watford two seasons ago, says he will stick to his guns.

"I like to have possession of the ball, I like to be dominant in the game, be solid and strong, smash somebody in the football game," he said.

"A foul is part of the football game. We have to be more strong, this is Championship, this is human.

"Sometimes we are a little confused."

Button's mistake came after the Whites continuously played the ball to their keeper under pressure under Villa's high pressing.

The Serbian manager admits that is how he likes his teams to play - who have dominated possession in the majority of their games this season.

"We were overplaying, I encourage them to play with the keeper, but today was too much," he added.

"I don't blame my keeper, I want him to try and find the best solution if I obligate him to do something like this.

"We have made many presents and paid a very expensive price. After the cross, Kodjia smashed the goal very well.

"It's not easy when you score these kind of goals. We were disappointed, it is true we didn't create enough chances, if you don't it is very hard to win or draw the game."
