Slavisa Jokanovic was livid at Fulham’s defensive record after the Whites fell to a 3-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest at Craven Cottage.
Robert Tesche and Henri Lansbury put the visitors two goals ahead, before substitute striker Matt Smith scored to give the Whites hope.
But Lansbury’s second goal sealed the win, slotting home from close range after his first from the penalty spot.
And Jokanovic criticised his side after conceding what was their 12th penalty of the season.
He said: “We made the chances but generally we are a very, very soft team. This is habit for us, it’s not strange to make the penalty, it’s not strange to concede from set pieces.
“At the moment we don’t stop these. After giving them so many presents we tried in second half to play some strange game and push them in a different way - which is normal, we’ve got to try and play during the game.
“We scored the goal, we made some chances, but generally we are very, very far away from how I would like my team to play their football.”
The Whites have conceded 76 goals this season - the highest amount outside of the bottom three who all suffered relegation.
And Jokanovic has endured a frustrating time since taking over, with January’s transfer embargo tying his hands from making permanent additions.
He made three changes to his back line after the 1-1 draw at Ipswich in midweek, and the manager admits something needs to change .
Jokanovic added: “We tried organising to be a little bit more offensive, we tried attacking with width.
“We tried Ryan Fredericks, and against Ipswich we played with 4 centre backs - for me it’s a logical decision but generally we were not offensive enough.
“I don’t know, really. This is our habit - this is the 12th penalty we’ve made this season, second team in the championship has made four. For us it is normal.
“We put the penalty in this area very far from the goal without much danger, for us this is completely normal. This is our habit.
“We have many bad habits, we need to stop it and eliminate this kind of situation because it’s so complicated.
“Generally we did not show today enough quality, all the goals they scored, if you are a little bit more clever, concentrate more, if you have a little more quality for the guy in the goal you can stop it.
“But for us it is normal. It is 35 goals from set pieces.”
