Slavisa Jokanovic has explained his decision to drop David Button, saying it was down to his distribution.
The Fulham boss handed a first start of the season to Marcus Bettinelli for his sides' 1-0 victory over relegation-threatened Birmingham City at Craven Cottage.
Explaining his decision to drop Button after the match, Jokanovic said: "We believe he can improve his distribution.
"Against another side David Button can do a great job for us, he's a great lad, and a professional kid and he has to fight for his job.
"Having a choice is better in certain situations and it's time to try a different solution for us. I tried similar last season and he must be strong and stay professional and fight."
