Slavisa Jokanovic believes Fulham didn't manage the situation well enough after they had gone a goal up against Cardiff and paid a high price for their mistake.

Ryan Sessegnon gave Fulham the lead when he pounced to tap in a rebound from Floyd Ayite's strike, but Danny Ward headed late on to salvage a point for Cardiff.

It was a physical tie with Neil Warnock's men more than happy to put themselves about on the pitch, with the foul count totting up to over 30 over the course of the game.

He also compared it to the Norwich game at the start of the season, where Fulham led until late on when they conceded a late equaliser, but he believes Fulham fought hard in a physical game.

He said: "It’s similar to the Norwich game - we arrived in the last 10 minutes with an advantage, we didn’t score the second goal, we didn’t manage the situation well enough, and we paid an expensive price.

“We showed some good spirit, fighting spirit, we fought hard. In the first 45 minutes we had possession of the ball but didn’t create so many chances.

“In the second half we moved the ball too and found the way to create the chances, but we weren’t clinical enough. We scored the goal but in the last minutes we didn’t manage the situation well enough, we made a few mistakes before they scored their goal.

“We showed some improvements, [but] it’s not enough. The road in front of us is long, and we can work to try and improve ourselves.

“We cannot be satisfied and we are disappointed, but immediately in front of us we are going to have another chance to win at home. I hope we are going to do it against Hull.

“40 games are left in front of all the Championship teams. [Cardiff] started very well, they’re a physically very strong team. Defensively we made a mistake for which we paid a very expensive price, but our defensive level was acceptably good.”
