Slavisa Jokanovic has held his hands up and accepted responsibility for his side's 2-0 defeat to Bristol City at Craven Cottage.

A dire first half saw the side go two goals down before the break, Bristol carved Fulham apart for Bobby Reid to net his tenth goal while Korey Smith added the second.

Jokanovic tried a 3-5-2 formation, moving away from his usual 4-3-3 and it was clear that the gamble didn't pay off, something the boss admits.

It's now just the one home win all season but Jokanovic wants his side to be brave to catch the front runners for those top six.

He said: “We tried a second time to try and find a solution with playing the diamond with two strikers to try and change the situation, similar to [the] Preston [draw earlier this month].

“It didn’t work especially so well in the 50 minutes when we played 11 against 11.

“After the sending off we didn’t show enough power to change our situation.

“First of all, I’m head coach. I want to take all the responsibility for today’s defeat.

“On another side we are two points less than last season after 15 games. We are four points behind the top six.

“The challenge for us is to be brave, confident and show we are going to come back and fight for the top of the table in this season.

“I understand we didn’t show enough quality today, Bristol played better football.”

Fulham will also appeal the red card given to Aboubakar Kamara for an off the ball incident in the second half, with the boss believing it should never have been red.

"[Kamara] made a mistake and gave the chance for the referee to show him a red card.

“We are going to appeal because we believe it’s not an option to send him off, but this moment is one of the crucial moments.”
