QPR will be expecting a difficult afternoon as they prepare to take on promotion contenders Sheffield Wednesday at Hillsborough.

The Owls will no doubt be looking to control possession from the off, taking the game to the Hoops and hoping that they are able to capitalise on their opportunities when they arise; something which has, on occasion, been something of a sticking point for Carlos Carvalhal’s side.

In this sense, QPR faced a similar challenge last Saturday against Reading, and with this in mind, they may look to set up with a similar line-up and system today, as they look to close down aggressively and use their energy to cause the hosts some problems.

The absence of players such as Idrissa Sylla, Yeni Ngbakoto, Jordan Cousins, Grant Hall and Steven Caulker is a blow, however I personally don’t feel any of these would force their way into the starting line-up today anyway, with my predicition being that Ollie will choose largely the same starting eleven as they did in the 2-0 victory over Reading.

The only doubt to that is whether Holloway will bring in Matt Smith as a target man in place of someone like Jamie Mackie, as they may prefer to have a more direct option against the Owls.

Predicted QPR team: Smithies, Perch, Lynch, Onuoha, Bidwell, Scowen, Luongo, Freeman, Wszolek, Washington, Smith.
