Brentford conceded five in the league for the first time in nine years as a resurgent Norwich put them to the sword.

The Bees, who had lost three going into the contest, were the more in-form side with the Canaries having lost their last five.

However, a John Egan own goal and strikes from Graham Dorrans, Robbie Brady, Nelson Oliveira and man of the match Alex Pritchard handed Norwich a comfortable win.

Norwich were quicker out of the traps and had the Bees pegged back and it was no surprise that they took the lead inside the first 10 minutes.

A Brady cross was inch perfect and there was nothing Egan could do but put the ball through his own net while under pressure from Jacob Murphy.

It went from bad to worse five minutes later as Ryan Woods' sliced clearance played in Murphy, who was brought down by Harlee Dean.

Dorrans had his initial spot kick saved by Dan Bentley but reacted fastest to tuck home the rebound.

Brentford were never in the first half and the closest they came was when Josh Clarke fired a shot straight at John Ruddy.

They were never in the second as Brady was played in by Pritchard to signal the end of the game as a contest.

There was time for Oliveira to run around Yoann Barbet and John Egan to slot home a fourth 15 minutes from time.

And Pritchard compounded the Bees misery when he started and finished a fine team move to send Dean Smith's side back to west London with their tails well and truly between their legs. The last time they shipped at least five in the league was when they matched their record defeat at Peterborough in November 2007.
