New QPR boss Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is one of the hottest prospects in football management after guiding Burton to promotion last term and leaving them sitting top of League One.

However, the former Chelsea striker still has some way to go to catch up the Football League's serial promoters.

We have been going through the League Managers' Association's archives to see how many times each of the Football League managers have steered their clubs up to the next tier.

Leading the way is Leeds United's Steve Evans with five to date.

The Glaswegian got Boston United promoted twice, Crawley Town promoted once and Rotherham United promoted twice.

Three managers have overseen four promotions each.

Bristol City's Steve Cotterill has improved the standings of Bristol City, Notts County and Cheltenham Town (twice).

Current Sheffield United manager Nigel Adkins has taken both Scunthorpe and Southampton up twice in his stints at those clubs.

A further seven managers have taken their teams up three times including Steve Bruce, Darren Ferguson and Micky Mellon.
